The Public Lands Project (formerly Vibrant Public Lands; formerly Public Lands Without Livestock) was established by
Mike Hudak
in 1999 to inform the American people about the environmental and economic costs of allowing cattle ranching on public lands. In recent years, the project’s attention has expanded beyond the boundaries of public lands to wherever livestock are raised. Our activities include live multi-media
presentations,
articles,
videos,
and website displays.
Contributions support research and development of web-based
photo essays
and
videos
in addition to defraying ongoing operating expenses of the project.
Recent projects include the web-based installation of Lynn Jacobs’s book Waste of the West, a video critique of using cattle in regenerative agriculture, and current work on restoring and expanding upon information formerly displayed on the RangeNet/RangeBiome/RangeWatch websites.
