6 Sep 2013, 13:00. My (Mike Hudak) sandal-clad feet the first day on the Camino Francés. I’d brought two types of footwear for walking the Camino, a pair of Adidas running shoes and these Chaco sandals which I’d hoped to wear without socks as temperature permitted. But after a few days my skin became dry and cracked despite applying petroleum jelly and other moisturizers. Then I discovered that the dress socks I’d brought for another purpose when worn with the sandals (and moisturing cream) would prevent dry skin. |
