16 Sep 2013, 11:05. Pilgrim Maria inspects the tomb of Santo Domingo de la Calzada (literally “Saint Dominic of the Road”) in the cathedral (and town) bearing his name. The 11th century saint is recognized for dedicating his life to improving the Camino Francés to Santiago de Com­pos­tela through the construction of roads and bridges.
