9 Oct 2013, 09:17. Two pilgrims on a foggy section of the Camino Francés as it passes between harvested agricultural fields approximately 2.4 km (1.5 miles) west of Sarria, Spain. Sarria is the location from which many pilgrims (especially Spanish ones) begin their Camino pilgrimage because it is the closest major city east of the 100 km mark from Santiago—100 km being the minimum distance that a walking pilgrim must travel to qualify for a “Compostela” (certificate of Camino completion). |
