6 Sep 2013, 11:57. High in the Pyrenees approximately 13.7 km (8.5 miles) along the Camino Francés from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. I’m about to encounter a flock of domesticated sheep grazing behind me. During the 16 years prior to my walking the Camino, I’d seen many bad impacts to the environment in the American West caused by cattle and sheep. Today’s encounter with sheep recalled those unpleasant memories.
