Went from one restaurant to another in Roncesvalles (Spain) in search of a meal that didn’t include meat, fish, eggs, or dairy. Between my limited proficiency in Spanish and seemingly uncooperative meal providers, my request remained unsatisfied. Upon returning to the albergue, I discovered that vending machines in the basement contained refrigerated entrées that could be heated in the adjacent microwave oven. Among the items was this vegan lentil stew, two containers of which became my dinner. |
