After pausing on the summit of Alto del Perdón to photograph Vicente Galbete’s iron sculpture and to enjoy a noontime snack of crackers, banana, almonds, and chocolate, I followed these Camino pilgrims down the western slope for the remaining 10.3 km (6.4 miles) to the day’s destination of Puente la Reina, Spain.
