      Camino pilgrims descend the western slope of Alto Mostelares (Spain) | Photo by Mike Hudak      
 
22 Sep 2013, 10:50. Three kilometers (1.9 miles) west of Castrojeriz, the Camino Francés steeply ascends more than 100 meters (330 feet) to the summit of Alto Mostelares. Here pilgrims are seen descending its western slope. Near the base at left a stone memorial marks the location where the pilgrim Manuel Picasso López died in September 2008.
