Two pilgrims on the Via Francigena in the Valle d'Aosta, Italy

9 Sep 2016, 13:19. Three-and-a-half hours after leaving Aosta, Italy, these were the first (and only) pilgrims that I encountered on my first day of walking on the Via Francigena. Easterly view of the Valle d’Aosta approximately 5 km (3.1 miles) east of the Castello di Nus on the way to the day’s destination of Châtillon. The Autostrada della Valle d’Aosta E25 (limited access superhighway) is seen at right.
