3 Oct 2013, 18:10. After walking the Camino Francés mostly through rain from Astorga I arrived at Foncebadón, a once mostly-abandoned village that has returned to life as buildings have been refurbished and converted to albergues. Although not exclusively providing plant-based (vegan) meals, Albergue Monte Irago provides plant-based dinner and breakfast options along with a cozy atmosphere. This easterly view along the Camino shows abandoned and collapsed buildings in the distance. Note the 3-wheeled pushcart that one pilgrim uses in lieu of a backpack to transport personal belongings.
