13 Oct 2013, 19:56. South view from the roof of the Catedral de Santiago’s the south transept onto the Plaza de Platerías (Silversmith’s Square), so named from the silversmith workshops once housed there. The cathedral cloister is to the right. At the far end of the plaza stands the Casa del Cabildo, a fine example of baroque architecture built in 1758 that now houses temporary art exhibits. Immediately in front of this structure stands the Fuente dos Caballos (Fountain of Horses). |
