From April 22 to October 29, 2017, the New York Botanical Garden hosted an installation of glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly. The images displayed here are from my visit to the garden on the evening of June 17th—one of the “CHIHULY Nights” on which the garden remained open until 10:30 PM and the sculptures were artificially lighted.
I treated my Botanical Garden visit as if it had been an academic photography class assignment. Prior to the visit I intentionally avoided viewing the Chihuly sculpture images of other photographers posted on the web. From the time of my first photograph until the last the duration was less than an hour and 35 minutes. During that tine I made 72 images from which I selected the 12 images for display in this online gallery.
